Manchester City boss Mark Hughes says he hasn’t given up on trying to sign Chelsea and England skipper John Terry. He’s seen the club splash out on strikers Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor, but says he knew big-name signings would arrive at Eastlands, and that he’s excited by the challenge. David Beckham’s had an unhappy return to the LA Galaxy’s Home Depot stadium. The England international was jeered by a section of the crowd during his first home game, and one fan was arrested. Beckham set up both Galaxy goals in a 2-2 draw against his former employers AC Milan. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he feared midfielder Tomas Rosicky’s career might be over. The 28-year-old Czech Republic international has been out for 18 months after hamstring and knee injuries, but finally made an appearance in a friendly on Saturday. Sunderland defender Paul McShane is facing at least three months on the sidelines. He’s been told he needs surgery on a knee problem.
