What a game!!  And I think it is fair to say that the best team won on the night - although penalty shoot-outs always seem a really disappointing end to a good game of football.  Whilst it was van der Sar who saved Anelka's penalty to secure Manchester's victory, other heroes include Patrice Evra, Wes Brown and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo (although he did miss his penalty!!).

Here are some things that I imagine Manchester United fans were shouting last night:

• Ooh aah van der Sar, I say Ooh aah van der Sar
• Was Rooney playing?
• Surely Sir Alex could have bought a new suit for the occasion
• And our goalie doesn't wear a funny hat...
• What a header!
• Not Lampard!
• I can't watch!

As for the Chesea fans:

• Vidic deserved it...
• There's only one Frank Lampard
• Winning on penalties is not really winning
• It cost me over a grand (£1000) to see that
• Come on Terry...
• I can't watch!

Another Champions League is over, the trophy returns to Manchester and Sir Alex Ferguson cements his reputation as a truly great football manager.
